A community breakfast and prayer time is planned in Tamaqua to mark the National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 2. The event begins at 9 AM with breakfast served in Founders Hall at Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette Street, Tamaqua. Following the meal, participants will move outside to the parking lot overlooking Tamaqua to offer prayers for various areas of American society and culture. Chairs will be available if needed. The prayer portion will be led by members of the Tamaqua Ministerial Association. All are welcome. A free-will offering of $5 is suggested and will be taken to defray the cost of the breakfast. Excess offerings will be donated to the Tamaqua Hunger Walk that weekend. Churches are asked to announce the event and determine the number of attendees. Please relay that number of attendees to George Taylor at 570-668-4451 or email@example.com by April 21.
