Our “Belle of the Ball” program recently donated over 100 gowns to the Bethlehem YWCA which hosted a “Prom Dress Day” March 23 at the State Theatre in Easton. It’s a nice touch since we “borrowed the “Belle of the Ball” idea from the Bethlehem Y.

Our thanks to Deb Davies and Gwen Evans for championing this project the last two years. “Belle of the Ball” can continue with the full support of all Tamaqua congregations.

Last year 300 gowns were collected and over 200 distributed. This year’s collection was not as great but still about 25 gowns were distributed. Prom gown projects have sprouted up in other local communities including Hazleton and Palmerton.
